くろつらへらさぎ・クロツラヘラサギ・黒面箆鷺・Platalea minor

アジア東部の限られた地域にのみ生息する渡り鳥です。
4月中旬から7月中旬にかけて朝鮮半島西岸沖の無人島で繁殖して、
10月下旬頃から台湾、香港、ベトナム、中国南部、日本などに渡って越冬します。
山口県内では山口市阿知須、山陽小野田市などに飛来します。
成鳥は、脚と目のまわりが黒くて体全体は白い羽毛で覆われています。
繁殖期には胸の羽毛が黄色くそまり、後頭部に長く黄色い冠羽があらわれます。
干潟や水田でしゃもじ形の黒いくちばしを左右に振りながら
魚類や甲殻類を食べます。
絶滅危惧種に指定されていることから、日本や中国、韓国の海岸の一部を
くらしやすい環境にしていくことで、繁殖地や個体数を増やす努力がされています。
The Platlea minor is a migratory bird that inhabits only limited areas of eastern Asia.
It breeds in the uninhabited island off the west coast of the Korean Peninsula from the middle of April to mid-july,and it passes the winter from late October in Taiwan,Hong Kong,Vietnam,South China,and Japan.
In Yamaguchi prefecture,it flies to Ajisu in Yamaguchi City,Sanyo-Onoda City,and other areas nearby.
The adult bird has black legs and is black around the eyes.
Its body is covered by white feathers.
During the breeding season,its chest feathers turn yellow,and long yellow crest feathers appear on the back of the head.
It eats fish and crustaceans in mudflats or paddy fields as it swings its rice-paddle-shaped beak from side to side.
Since it is designated as an endangered species,efforts have been made to increase its breeding grounds and population by making part of the shores of Japan,China and Korea easy environment for it to live in.
